This position works alongside and leads the work activities of an assigned crew of personnel engaged in road and street maintenance duties, and supervises the daily work activities.
Examples of Duties
• Supervises daily work activities and participates in the work of an assigned crew of personnel.
• Ensures employee compliance with safety procedures.
• Trains crew on proper equipment operations and techniques.
• Prepares performance evaluations and necessary discipline of various personnel, under the direction of the Supervisor and Superintendent.
• Transports crew and equipment to and from work sites.
• Supervises and participates in the operation of equipment in the maintenance and repair of streets, signs and pavement markings.
• Coordinates the maintenance of assigned vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Responds to customer complaints, concerns and inquires; provides information and assistance and resolves problems.
• Gathers data and prepares reports.
• On call 24/7 during assigned week.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three to five years’ experience or service.
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
